And they haven't even started yet..This is a win win situation for any government..any of the general public who speak out against it are dirty poluting persons, when the government talk to other countries they can be seen to be doing everything they can to fight against polution..and they are making a fortune with one invisable tax after another..no good complaining these taxes are set in stone..and another thing there will be a competition for future governments to see who can think of another anti GREEN thing to tax us on..so don't waste your time complaining because it won't do any good...If you grab them by the balls and pull..the hearts and minds will follow...Queen Boadecea...650ad... :D John

And one volcanic eruption (e.g. Mt St Helens) puts out more crap, carbon included, than the entire human race has since we crawled out of the primordial soup.........

The government could wipe out a large percentage of the UK carbon emisions by doing two things.

1 - Ban the sale and use of the ordinary light bulb

2 - Make it illegal to sell an electical appliance that doesn't have a disconecting manual switch.

We cut our bill by a 3rd just by implementing these in out own home.

a couple of facts -

Carbon off setting is a con, doesn't mean anything and doesn't do anything for the planet.

One acre of tacmac is better for the environment than an acre of trees.

Global warming is a fact, always has been always will be, we are currently at the global peak of warming (actualy a double peak where two natural event coincide, this doesn't include the human factor) and should start reversing in due time.

how can tarmac be better than trees or grass?
as for warming cycle yes but with our imput it is accelerated.
which mag reported that cfc's were damaging the ozone layer in the early to mid 70's and nowt was done untill a lot later.
danger with globle warming is that it can trigger globle cooling by melting the ice caps and stopping the pump that powers the gulf stream ect if that stops we will have ice down to scotland for around 1/4 to 1/2 a year.
as with most things there are pro and ant globle warming sides but i think its wise to act on the save the plant side cant do any harlm can it.
if we do nowt and its proven to be pushed along by us it will be to late to reverse if it carries on after we cut emissions ect so be it but why take the chance.

how can tarmac be better than trees or grass?.

Trees do not lock away carbon, all they do is recycle it over an over again untill they die then its all back in the atmosphere. Unless they are covered over to form coal, gas, oil pockets...

Tarmac on the other hand instantly locks away carbon and keeps it there...

as for warming cycle yes but with our imput it is accelerated..

Currentl on a 100,000 and 40,000 year cycle we are peaking at both.

danger with globle warming is that it can trigger globle cooling by melting the ice caps and stopping the pump that powers the gulf stream ect .

Ad yet there is no evcidence that this will occur in fact there is increasing evidence that it wont happen. But don't hold your breath!

i think its wise to act on the save the plant side cant do any harlm can it..

My thoughts exactly!

Use besdt practice just in case otherwise we may be fucked up in the future... also work to get off the god damn rock in order to save the planet!!!

As said at the start of the post:
