had a meeting at work yesterday and we were told that the brewery have just brought courages real ales from them ; not the odd keg, but the rights to brew the bloody stuff, so charlies now own the right to brew courages beer, which is a bit strange as courage now have to buy their beer from our shower of shyte, so from october all you chappies that drink their ales will be pleased to know that it will be made from the finest river ouse, we have apparently taken on another 2500 freetrade outlets, how the fuck we are supposed to do them I don't know as we are short staffed by 6 crews and the youngs depot is short by 12 crews ( 36 blokes in transport alone ) and we also purchased another 11 pubs which will be serviced from bedford, so those in gloucestershire will be a jolly day and night out.
so is it good or bad news, I personally don't care as long as I am paid the extra!, in case you hav'nt heard of this yet, the announcement will be made later on the stock market, so at the momment its a secret, so ssssshhhhhhhhhhh
I reckon charles well should take over carlberg and tetley next, sack all the transport and buy hourse and carts instead.......
they are apparently at brewing capacity with all their own product and with youngs so I don't know how they are going to produce and store another 250000 barrels ( 36g) of beer a year, could be interesting :D
The words Pissup and Brewery come to mind............ :D

Ouse water might improve the taste of courage beers... can't make it any worse! :D
(especially after me drinking Taylors Landlord last week in Howarth! - nectar of the Gods, only the other side of the valley from where it's brewed!)

correct sir, the new place is opening on the 2nd of feb and they have forgotten a small detail of staff, they are trying to find forklift drivers, stackers, pickers ect before it opens...
only need another 30-40 blokes apparently
Not bad for a company that was touting redundancies a few short months ago........

the thing that worries me is when they put 'new and improved' on the label...it usually means they have messed up the taste!.. :D John
