Does anyone know if bandit 600 brakes are compatible with a gsx 600 f?

My mate seems to think my callipers look the same as his callipers on his bandit.... but i'm not sure. GSX's have notorious problems with brakes, and bandits don't.... so surely they're not the same?

Another mate rode my bike yesterday and said "brakes what f'n brakes?" and he's a harley rider so I guess they're buggered! I know the pistons are sticking and new pistons cost a fortune so considering getting second hand callipers, but the gsx ones aren't easy to find (i missed a set on evilbay this morning).

ps my bike is a 91 gsx600fm

Here you go linky http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/

a straight swap to upgrade their bikes with no problems, and without having to go to the effort of making up a set of adapter plates.

So if your bike is listed in the same section as another bike below, you can change calipers without any worries.

For ease I shall just call the calipers type 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Absolutely - got a couple of guys on the site already with 550 projects on the go. Beware tho, u willprobably soon start to feel inclined to drop in a 750 motor, update the running gear .... lol Had a couple of 550s myself years back. sturdy wee bikes :)

free the calipers off, use g clamps work each piston one at a time, they are 4 plastic pistons on the early gsxf's so easy enough to clean up, just get the crap off with spray cleaner, then put pads back in then re fit.
