laptop question

not bein up on pc's etc im thinkin of gettin a laptop to take to work with me,now what i want to know is can i get online if theres no internet connection were i work,an if so how do i go about gettin on line :confused:

go for Wifi notebook ... can always hook up where there is a socket but with added advantage of being able to be online in all these loactions as well
