missus got some foam from lidl excercise mat, looks like it could be a winner.
covering the seat pan and foam with suede, anybody else used alternative material for seat covering other than leather :) :)

funnily enough I started a thread like this earlier on under biker chat and roll matt and gaffa tape seemed poular choice!

The big Suzuki Katana's had some sort of suede material as I recall.
And I do remember someone using the stuff used in curtainsided lorries. Dunno what or how you'd use it, though.

If you went for the latter option, don't be surprised to find a neat slit in it one morning, from where some illegal immigrants have cut their way out... :eek:

you can get mock suede material its still vinyl and is pretty close to the real thing. the material a lot of people use for katana seats is called alcantara, its mostly used for upholstery in marine applications, but it is hiddeously expensive, (like £70 plus vat a square metre expensive!!)
