On Friday I'll be getting a similar tat to this one....but I'm not sure which colour to have

main thing is it has to be bright and a colour which won't fade quickly

thinking of

emerald green
electric blue
shocking pink
bright purple
scarlet

also it'll be next to a purple flower which I already have

any opinions?

:)

electric blues and the aqua blues, along with emerald greens are great colours, all strong and pretty fade resistant on mmost people

why not go for some UV ink shading, maybe pick out some of it in a cobalt blue, or the titanium white, looks the nuts when ni a pub or at a gig with UV lighting :)

I bought in about 16 different colours, got a genie coming out of a skull on my arm, is a combination of 2 edward lee pieces, got UV going into the eyes and the amulets around his neck. other arm is greys etc 3 large skulls with chains and flames, were picking out the tips of the flames with white and blue. and might white the teeth and eyes of the skulls, really makes people stand and stare LOL

when the missus lets me Im having a pair of eyes tattooed on the back of my head, tattooed to look closed with normal ink, but using some UV blues and whites with a little red, will try and get them to look like they are open under UV light, hey presto blinking eyes in the back of my head whenever theres flashing UV :)

Oooh, decisions, decisions. I love all the designs.

You could use all the colours, they could all blend, like when you see petrol on water and the colours merge and look luverrrrly. :)

Whatever you decide, it'll look fab! ;)

Very pretty tattoos Doro, I'm sure any of the mentioned colours will look good but having some bits highlighted in the UV colours the devontony mentioned might be worth considering :) got me wanting another tat now

Blue is a great colour for a tat. Me, Babs and my son Gavin had our own design done in Faro in 2000. My son had green, Babs had yellow and I had Bright Blue. It's as bright as ever and lives up to the guarantee that it would be seen across a crowded pub. It's the only tat I've got and I was 52 when I had it done. We are the only three in the world with our design, so the memories are there forever.

I was wondering what you tat came out like, I missed the post when you showed it on here. Didn't realise you could 'find' old threads 'till now, so looked to find it again, and I have to say you made a GRRRREAT choice, 'tis cool, cool, cool! :D

Doro
20-12-2004, 03:48 PM
in case anyone is wondering the guy who did it is called Keith and works at Andy Barber's studio in New Malden, Kingston.

will try and find his address and number and stick them in here....

I am absolutely over the moon with it, next one will be done soon, though I don't want to overdo it lol

Doro - to get that colour effect that you really want is down to technique and the types of ink used. American inks are THE inks to use for really bold colour and as long as your tattooist is running the gun at low speed (as he / she should) your ink should stay fresh and bold. Keep on inkin! Looking good :)
