the question most of us have asked at one time or another.
No search engines allowed, your thoughts only please..

i would like to think yes

I bloody well hope so - I want to fly and meet up with folks and pets that went before!!!!
My mother says she's done the old astral travel thing once when she was abroad visiting an Indian guru (she and my stepfather are Hindus by religion). She also swears blind she's seen fairies, I found that one hard to swallow quite frankly as I never see anything even remotley spiritual or ghostly but my mum isn't in the habit of lying to me and even to this day says it is true!!!!

i do not believe we have a soul, or that there is an after life. i kind of like the buddhist religion and the concept of reincarnation but sadly, i think it is the refusal to accept the finalty of death that leads some people to cling on to the possibility of some sort of after life. (wow, like heavy man :) )

*taps on keys while thinking*
The idea of a soul is denial of death. The idea of re-incarnation is, frankly, ludicrous (there are 6 billion people on this planet - where did all those souls come from???).
As much as I enjoy the notion of 'karma' it would require re-incarnation and therefore is redundant.
Human beings are nothing but a blip in the history of this planet and virtually non-existant in terms of the universe. That's why I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

yep.. in comparison of past time, we are gonna exist for a very short space of time
nope
no soul
am too much of a scientist to believe otherwise
even though I was brought up by a spiritualist who used to take me to church and do 'readings' and messages from the grave
I have always been 'spiritual' to a very deep extent and I have had many beliefs which I have proved wrong (to myself) just from questioning things
In my opinion the power of the mind far outweighs anything else, your mind can do amazing things, telepathy exists, as does telekinesis - the ability of tibetan monks to control their heart rate and body temperature by mind alone is well documented
I also think a lot more research should be done into the electromagnetic fields within us and the DNA aspect of memory
after all
we are all breathing in Julius Caesar's last breath...!!
to me, we are biological beings (yeah, I know it's washing powder, but jonny said I couldn't use google so I dunno what other word to use) and when the electrical impulses in the brain stop, and your heart stops, then you are dead and no other activity exists outside of the one thing that made your 'mind' exist, ie your brain.
which makes it even more important to live a good life while you can, no 2nd chances, and make sure you leave something good behind.
now I realise that some of you need to believe in an after life so please don't think I'm TELLING you how it is, I am only telling you my beliefs
so in the same way that I respect your beliefs and would never dream of telling anyone they are wrong or stupid to believe a certain thing, I'd appreciate it if you simply accept my beliefs as another way of thinking and don't slag me off over them.
thank-you
:)
however please feel free to question my beliefs in a discussion type of way, that's what this is meant to be....a debate :)
