When will they learn?? the should never have privetised the railways.
And so what if a level crossing is in a small village, proper barriers need to be put at all these sub standard barriers.
I hope those who are injured make a quick recovery, but with such carnage it will be a long long time till the mental scars fade > :(

Yep, pretty crap news. do these trains go thru the crossings at high speed.
i remember a crash like this on the A458 near welshpool a few years ago.
A bit too frequent these things.

There's a possibility the car was left on the tracks deliberately. Those responsible should face the full weight of the law,but will probably just get a slapped wrist.

Don't know if anybody else saw it, but there was a prog on the telly called 'Whistle blower' a few nights ago about the blokes that supposedly do all the track maintenance. A couple of undercover reporters got jobs working on the tracks for several months and what they secretly filmed was really scary. Having seen it I will never use a train again.

this accident was just up the road from us, trouble also is the area is just fields with only minor roads surrounding it... must have been a nightmare for the emergency services. !!!!

If this was suicide, why did he not think of those others that he might kill?
I don't Suppose that they planned on dying that day
