But some people do actually want to know, that's the thing. Is the letter associated with a coroner's enquiry? I believe that part of 'the process' is to investigate and confirm cause of death and it seems that this letter could be confirmation of that?

I cant imagine how hard it was for you to receive that letter Rob.

No, the letter is results from tests taken when Dawn had the op for the ttts.
Ive just about had it. Was thinking of going to the Soggy Moggy but not sure i'd be good company or be overly sociable with people the way things are going.
Gonna spread our little boys ashes this afternoon.
Seeya all later.

Rob, a similar thing happened to my sister earlier this year. She had an ectopic pregnancy with a burst tube. She nearly died and the baby did. A week after she was discharged she got a letter from the hospital asking her to come in for her second scan.

It appears that hospitals as so disjointed that the various departments don't communicate with each other. It's not a perfect situation, but I suspect the nurse who made the call to you will be feeling really bad about it now. Blame the management mate.

Similar thinmg with a friend's daughter. She had miscarried her second due to incorrect management of her pregnacy by the hospital, because of a condition she has. They were going to to a D&C (clean up job) and one doctor was trying to insist she should have an epidural instead of a general anaesthetic "because it's better for the baby". She looked at him and said "My baby's dead" - he scuttled out of the room and she didn't see him again.
She got an apology from the hospital for the errors but I don't think she bothered to report the doctor, she was sick of it all by then.

On a happier note, she now has two lovely girls!

after working in what is now the health industry for over thirty years I find this sort of thing happens all the more often these days, what with computers being forced on peeps who don't know how to use them, feckwits being promoted to managerial positions before they have got the experience and the general drop in the quality of training.

just a few more years then I can get early retirement

This is what happens when managers take over and try and do the health professionals job. Useless tossers, it must be like a knife twisting in your heart to keep getting letters like that
Check this out, another bit of NHS stupidity:

This item of clothing covers the whole face and body. Tell me how we are supposed to monitor vital signs after surgery and how these poor bitches are supposed to breath as the anaesthetic is wearing off. Apparently some muslim men won't allow their slaves to have an operation unless they are wearing one of these.
Can you imagine trying to give birth in one.
Man the NHS has gone to sh1t

"I noticed a gap in the market and thought that it would be great if there was a gown that helped to preserve a patient's modesty."

The gown provides extra comfort and cover for patients undergoing medical procedures, and whose culture or religion requires them to be more modestly clothed.erm sorry, you come in my (or any) operating theatre and modesty gets left at the door.

Rob, I'm so sorry, and horrified to read what happened to you. If I were you, I'd complain to your local MP and ask him/her to demand an apology from the hospital.

I think that the whole NHS has gone to ****
