He's only 17 UT, it's his first bike and he didn't know til the forum people pointed it out. He thought his dad was going to deal with it for him but he believed D&K's crap when they fobbed him off.

We reckon they've probably used the frame off a Cat a or b writeoff to rebuild the bike, but given it an identity to match the engine not the frame.

Im following this one with interest.
The lad has been sold a bike by D&K that has now been confirmed as dodgy by his local Suzuki dealer. The bike has been handed over to the police.
Im waiting for someone to post D&Ks response when faced with the undeniable evidence that they sold a ringer (and an obvious one at that).

yeah, the fuckers handled my nicked CB900 back in the 80's, and when I turned up at the shop with the Uttoxeter coppers they had shifted it all and said they had not had any CB900 bits in for months (my bits were in the shop 2 hours previous)

Well if you read the thread on the gs500 forum, several of them have emailed mcn to tell them about this. What do you reckong the chances of publication are? Guess who provide a good proportion of MCN's test rides?

Latest update is the bike was taken to Greater Manchester Stolen Vehicle Unit last night for a proper ID check. If it's hooky, apparently they will keep it (whether it's stolen or just the bike equivalent of a cut n shut) but the young lad has some good people fighting his corner now and we expect to see a fairly rapid full refund.

Judging from recent postings over on that other site the bike has been found to be as dodgy as expected.

I have never had any dealings with D&K but if even half of what I hear is true, I wonder how they have managed not to be closed down yet.

I have had some dealing with them, on three bikes since 1999. A Vmax, Ducati and a Harley. Each time I got to say they were fine with me, very helpful, and a decent-ish deal. Maybe I got a better person to deal with?

Or maybe you look the type not to be F'd around with?
