I knew that I needed an interesting shape to the fuel tank for the project trike, and I saw a lovely teardrop shaped tank on a streetfighter in a magazine a few months back. Quickbob???

What the f*^k's a Quickbob??? Harley Davidson, apparently. I don't DO Harleys, but I've heard of this Quickbob, fatbob, bob-a-job whatever before. Every feature bike I see with a nice roundy teardrop tank - Quickbob. So I search the Ebay, and I found one. I won it at £42.90 and picked it up today. What a beauty!! Perfect.

It's got 2 holes in the top - one for the filler, and one for a fuel guage???
Also a big gap at the front where the speedo and chrome surround fits.

I could fill it with water (so it won't explode) and weld some sheet metal into the holes that I don't need. Or buy the parts to go in the holes. Or carve up some billet ally with my angle grinder to fit in the holes.

The least I will need is a filler cap. Has anybody got one? Or possibly any of the other parts!!

I don't even know what filler caps these tanks have as standard. What will your caps be like? Flush fit would be nice. I also need to get a tap for it.
Can you give me some idea of prices, styles etc.

caps are usually opposite threads on hd tanks i.e. one right hand thread. the other a left hand thread.

my supplier still waiting on new stock.

if you go to the custom chrome site, i can get anything they list.

i only do one fuel tap for those tanks

£13.95 less 10% to forum members plus shipping of 0.80p

i can get others but the prices increase steeply.
i will enquire about flush caps but it would help if i had a pic of the tank you have..
