you lose a mate, an experienced biker, to a myopic cager.
But when you lose a mate who has barely started shaving, its nothing less than sheer gut wrenching.
This morning, on his way to work, Mike Brown paid the price for his love of bikes, and the lifestyle.
He was just 21.
In our area, a group of lads decided to start a club and go the way we all know. All were young, all were ready to continue our blood. And Mike was a part of it. He played Bass in a band, (which a group of us went to see this last saturday night). Party time.
I got a call today to be told that (apparently) a car driver had pulled out of a layby to do a 'U' turn, and ended the life of our friend. There were no skid marks on the road. Pretty fucking instant.
And such a pity that he wasnt a split second slower to also take the bastard with him....................................

Mike Brown. Ex Dragonhearts MCC and Celtic Warrior prospective member.
R.I.P.

there was a piece in my local paper last night about a young bloke killed on his bike. his mom said the only consolation she could draw from the tragedy was the fact he died doing something he loved. condolences to your friends family griff.

This is the very fucking reason why I think everyone should be made to ride a bike instead of cars.

They're cheaper (apart from usually the first year of riding).
They take up less room on the roads.

And more imprtantly, everyone has to have their wits about them becaus they are much more dangerous. That'll keep the fucking car-driving bastards awake.

never met him, nor any other person who's had thier death reported here on this forum, but its still a shock...You go out on your bike/trike for a quick blatt about and never make it home...:(

Whereever he/they are now, I hope the roads are all long straights without junctions....

Mikes parents, his girlfriend and a group of us rode/drove to the site tonight.
The lads had made a cross out of 4x4 fence posts, put a carved plaque on it, we dug a hole, erected it and stuck a crash helmet on the top. Flowers were placed at the foot. The cross is big. Took two of the lads to carry it. The sunset behind was beautiful, constantly changing. And the silence was deafening. There was no need for words, red eyes told the story.
Seeing his mum and girlfriend breaking their hearts was unbearable.

There's to be an inquest. The blind wanker will be there.

Oh yes.
And so will we.
