As you know Mrs Bunbag works with the Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue
she was sent a cheque for £5000 from what she thought was a very generous man. It turns out to be a complete B*****d of a scam. :mad: They wanted her to have £1500 for the rescue and forward £3500 onto another guy in Nigeria. Thankfully she has more sense than that. They weren't prepared for her to wait for the cheque to clear but send the money now. I DON'T THINK SO. Anyway, she told him that the cheque didn't clear and was sent back to him and lets just say he wasn't pleased. His last email was a bit threatening in saying she was not to make him mad. The polis fraud squad were very pleased to deal with him. Isn't it sad that b******ds like that pick on charities. They got her details because the rescue is a registered charity and registered with the Kennel Club. She can supply his email address if anyone wants to send him greetings.

I had the same thing with an item I was selling on ebay. They wanted me to accept a cheque of £2000 for a £400 item, then send them the remaining money along with the item. Even got to the stage where he was ringing me (on my mobile!) from Nigeria trying to get it sorted out. I strung him along for 2 months.... God only knows what his phone bill looks like! LMAO!!!

a lot of people are gullable, and will fall for this type of scam, just shows what arse holes they are to try and rip of a charity

Just hope they never need the charity they rip off, would be apropriate if they couldn't help cos they had no money :eek:

Oh hun I'm sooo sorry to hear that. You must feel awfull. It's happened to a friend of mine too. These people are heartless criminals.
