as above, I just managed to get a nice set of 1" custom chrome bars for the project, but now need switchgear and 2 hydraulic master cylinders, ie clutch and brake to suit
anyone got anything or know of anywhere that might have good deals, I beleive that some of the modern jap cruisers are using 1" bars now, but do they reduce where the switches etc are??
thanks

cheers mitch, ya message box is full so cut and pasted message here
:) just bin home to pick them up, and what a stroke of luck, they plug into the existing connecions on the loom, only checked a few but the damn colours even seem to match :), I never use the standard loom, but seeing as they fit, it makes my job easier to build a new loom with matching wires and connectors
will be stripping them down, ally weld up the indicator slot, and get that smooth, then probably treat them to a nice coat of the stone effect that the rest of the bike is being done in, or failing that a nice matt black, just going to start ringing around to try and get the twistgrip part for the throttle and will be well sorted :)
now just need to sort out the master cylinders, but reckon that I will just cut and shut the bars around that area and fit the 7/8 ones, all depends on how the lever etc clear the switch gear
thanks again

Depending on how thick the metal is arround the clamp ring on your clutch and break lever it can be drilled out to 1" that is what I did and they work ok.You can get a 1" twist grip from custom fasteners

yeah I had loked at that, the current bars are about 22mm?, and need to go to 25mm, so is about 1.5mm out of each half of the clamp, will have a look how much meat is on both parts, if needed I could remake the clamp round the back of the bars, but not sure if the securing bolts will get in the way??
failing that will just turn up a section to slug the bars together with and clamp down to this, but depends on how visible this will be
luckily the RHS switchgear is also a throttle assembly, the tube is missing, but will phone round the kwak shops and get one
