brakes

i know this topic has been covered many a time but has anybody had any sucess using a bike rear cylinder to operate reliant drum brakes?i had given up on the idea but spoted a nice dragstar triketoday at elton in cambs and it had a bike cylinder,dont know what it was off tho,tried looking for a number on it but all i could see was 1/2,does this mean a half inch bore???very lost on this subject :(

used to use one off a gpz400 import that worked well if a bit harsher than the standard one
