that bloody stupid thread about taking pics of lightning. ffs it travels at 186000 miles a second. try pressing the camera button that fast.

it's costing me time and money. i've tried everything. even to the point of trying to draw lightning to where the camera is aimed.
AND I STILL CAN'T CAPTURE THE STRIKE

take my last test. i got a test subject to stand holding a long ali pole in the air.

great that'll do it i thought.
FLASH,WHAM.BOOM

AND I STILL BLOODY MISSED IT.
the damage was extensive.
and althogh the test subject still acted the same as normal. and even drove home. i'm sure sooner or later. they or someone else is going to notice theres summat different about them.
and it's the fault of that stupid thread.

Sorry D you got it wrong again, If you are using a digital camera and you are trying to film analogue lightning which travels at 186000 miles per second you will never do it. How thick are you...You need to be looking for digital lightning we are supposed to be part of euroland now...Kilometeres not miles... so you have to be filming the other type of lightning...it travels at 300,000000 METRES per second. and get your test subject to wear a beret and clogs and a longer pole measured in metres, that pole looks as if it was measured in feet....Hope this helps...PS frenchmen work best at conducting lightning if they eat some snails first.... :D John

I'd stick with that idea.
More likely to work than taking a photo of it...

I had Scargill on the train once trying to travel on a child ticket. I said "You can't travel on that mate". He replied "yes i can, i'm a miner" ;)
