would like to build my own exhaust straight through pipes fitted with baffles will this be ok for sva or will they need bs numbers stamped on them

I haven't found the relevant section to quote yet but:-

I believe it's the same as E marks on lights; as long as the component has equal spec to marked items then they are deemed suitable.
