Set off for uni this morning, big day and had to be there on time so I left early (thank god!) as we had inspectors and a test this morning.
Anyway got as far as the local shops and starts thingking, "Why the feck is this bike so loud". Turns out the exhaust had fallen off.
Cue riding up and down the local roads looking for the thing and thank goodness found it in the middle of the road miraculously not flattened by passing cars and lorries!
Anyway the darned thing was red hot and I had no bungees so I decided to hide it in a hedge and pick it up on the way back, had to rush as it was getting late.
I rolled into Eastbourne sounding like the entire local Hog chapter rolled into one bike, made heads turn I can tell you :D
later on went back to get bungees and pick up the exhaust and as luck would bloody have it I was a police car sandwich all the way home over the hills, funny thing is neither cop cars said a word or stopped me despite the fact they must have been deafened by the row I was making!
Got back to the hedge or so I thought and suddenly realised all hedges look alike - cue an hour of rooting through the local shrubbery while being watched by nervous curtain twitchers. Found it eventually and buggered off home with a very red face!!!
Bloody jap bikes!!!!!!!

Poor Mitch is outside putting the exhaust back on in the pouring rain with a force 10 gale blowing and reams of wire and bolts...the bugger won't come off again in a hurry but now my bike looks like some sort of high security prison :D
I will have to think of someway to repay the poor love for his efforts, maybe I'll push the boat out and make him some microwaved fishfingers :)

I used to have a pipe on the GS that got me pulled by a copper 2 streets away from where I was speeding . He said he couldn't nick me but he knew I was speeding by the racket the pipe made I just grinned and pissed off rapid like

Once upon a time before video, each year at the TT a vinyl LP was made of the audio hightlights including a commentary.

Some years back, out of curiosity, I contacted Duke Video and asked them if any recording survived.

I admit to now owning three cassette tapes of 'Sounds of the TT'. including the roar of the Moto Guzzi 'V'8, Hailwoods Honda 250cc six cylinder and the sound of Bob Macintyre going around Govenors Bridge whilst trying to keep his pipe alight...!

Try an M21 with no pipe at all. Way back in the mists of time the rockers used to gather on Chelsea Bridge and the Mods used to gather at Battersea Funfair. I used to ride with the guys down to the Funfair and rub their noses in it, as we were too many to stop. This day they had drafted more mods in and it turned into a riot. Making good our escape, I took my M21 and sidecar over a low wall, which had a 3 foot drop on the other side. This knocked the front pipe off. I picked it up and lobbed it into the sidecar and rode off. Two foot flames shot out of the exhaust port and the noise was like a low flying lancaster bomber.
