Why's that then? When you're quite right.

Wasn't ever really a lover of the VT. Known a few that have been triked. They make an OK runabout for around town. Can look small and pretty.

For serious stuff 750 is about minimum

I spose it depends what you mean by serious, and what you want from it. Mine's a kwak 550 and I travel all over on it. Bags of acceleration at the bottom end, cruises happily at 70, top end is around 85, thats with a Reliant robin axle.
Of course the GT was a fairly solid bike to start with, the VT is a bit of a lightweight compared. But I think it would be fun. I know a number of folks with CX500 trikes too.

If the VT is what you have, and you want a trike, then trike it! It would be different anyway!

vt puts out 52 bhp with a 71mm bore and a 62mm stroke
cx a,b,ec puts out 50 bhp 78mm & 52 mm bore and stroke

the longer stroke of the vt should give good torque. and basically end up with the performance similar to a cx 500

Hey there,

we have just built and sold a vt500 trike, sold it on ebay,it was a great trike,we used a reliant axle with 13 inch wheels,it had very good pickup, even from low revs and it was still pulling over the 80 mph mark,it was kinda small tho,but ideal for a shorter rider or woman!
