This might be an old hat type question but if I have a Q plated crosser frame, can i change the engine/capacity? Or will it have to go thru the msva etc?

Its an RM250 chassis that i would like to stick a 650 in to make a chop out of. At the mo its got an old XL250 engine in it.

I wouldnt be changing the taxation class or the fuel type, just the engine and its cc.

Anybody know for sure??

thankyou everybody

Assuming that the crosser frame has a registration; then no MSVA as it isn't changing from a bicycle to anything else.

Fill in the changes section on the log book for new engine number and capacity and send it off to DVLA.

I'm on the lookout for an XL250 engine, if you're selling it.
