I'm thinking of aquiring a Z750 twin, (no, I don't really know why either). But I was wondering if anyone knows if I can replace the spoked wheels with cast ally items from another Zed of similar era? without chopping stuff up.

Sorry Mash, aint got no cash. This, if it comes about will be a kind of a swap. Thanks all for the info and some positive comments. I thought the twin had a bad rep'.

cant remember the exact details of teh bad rep - but sure it was down to 2 things

1. oil n filter not being changes when service is required

2. thrashing the nuts of it.

the bke is a quick bike, but shes more of a tourer - treat her repesctfully with th ethrottle n gears and she should go round the clock with ease

I used to buy imported ones from the states.
They suffered badly from primary chain problems, very expensive to replace, also watch out for ripped / torn carb diaphrams, seats can be a bugger to replace as well and forget trying to get standard exhausts!

No worries Dead Hamster...

BlackJack I'm open to sensible offers...lol...To be fair mines in fairly good nick for its age....n it's belt drive....I haven't even thought about a price yet really....Or could be tempted to trade for parts to get the rest of the damm "fleet" finished

Essentially, all I'm after is an engine.

The rest of it would be nice, but it isn't necessary. So it sounds like yours would be too dear.

theres a new website for owners of the z750 twins, www.lonesometwin.co.uk might be a useful point of contact for any owners.
