missis had a look in the bank 2 days ago £100 + in account yesterday £-60
so when got home had a look on the online banking found the hfux had cased 2 chqs which put her in the red far cop she should have ben a bit more careful but what pissis me off is the the fact the ist one put her £1 in red so thay charge £28 for not haveing an overdraft then £30 for expensis on thar part for letting her go into the red then another £30 for cashing the other chq putting her £60 in the red so thay have added £88 on top of the £60 how the fu*** can thay justify this amont of charges to cover ther expensis what a load of boll***.
lucky i can transfer some across to cover this but hell how can thay get away with this **** talk about puting you in dep and thay pay 0.02 p interest on £400 in another account thasnks a bunch bast***
shall be going down today to have a face to face phoneings no good just flob you off and ask them to justify it.

TV prog about this a few weeks ago.
If you write to the bank demanding a return of all amounts they will cave in. Not till you threaten them with court, but they dont want to loose a court case on this, so they are paying thousands of people back at the moment - but only if you look like you are going to go all the way with this.
Write to them - dont bother having a meeting

I can't find it, but I'm sure I read a thread on here from Fran about bank charges, and how you can claim them back as under some circumstances they are illegal to enforce.

organise yoru self an overdraft facitlity and dont use it, then is if you ahve an accident its much cheaper......just keep a check make sure they dont cancel it with out you knowing....costs nothing to arrange overdraft if you dont use it.

I had the same problem with Nat West, I wrote to them instructing them to cancel all my direct debits, Bank insurances, and send me a list of all charges. They ignored the letter and piled more charges on, I then had a meeting and they ignored the things we agreed on. So to save getting right in the sh:t I cancelled all my Direct Debits, Cancelled my subscriptions to Sky, and everything else, paid my magazine subscription charges by cheque in advance, closed my business account.(used a personal account without charges and had cheques made out to me) and changed my bank to TSB. got out of trouble. just kept the one current account with Nat West because I had a business mortgage with them,I used it just for the mortgage, put enough in each month to pay the mortgage and tore up my cheque book and credit cards for that account, and every chance I got I put a lump sum in to pay off the mortgage early, You have to instruct them to take it in one lump or they will just draw on it and you will be no better off. ( that way you cut down on your monthly repayments and you don't have to pay penalties ) Before you do anything sit down with a bit of paper and see what you can afford to do without, and what your outgoings are. Remember if you cancel something you can always take it up again later, probably with a start up discount.John

went tothe bank yesterday to try and sort out a overdraft on the account said thay cant due to the account haveing charges on it explaned why it went overdrawn but thay just didnt whant toknow.
so i gave them the letter asking for a list of all charges on all accounts over the last 6 years and that i was going to claim them all back.
still no joy of them then i asked if i had put enough over to cover the charges and fu**me in the time it takes to check the emails in the morning and get down there thay had droped another £30 charge on for useing the card the day before for £7.00 .this was befor we knew the account was over drawnm.
i asked if the bank holein the wals were updated regulare and she said thay updated live as money was taken bull if that was true i would have seen it on the m/c ,any way total charges for being £67 o/d is £148 so i blew up in the bank stoud up claped my hands above my head and informed the whole bank to watch out for thaere fuc++charges and that thay are robbind bast**s and that every one had better watch out.than walked out head up high spitting fireballs and farting smoke .
not the best thing to do in the high street bank but it felt good for a bit.
poor old eldist daughter was out side(18) head in hands laughing at her old dad ranting and raveing. thinking now of makeing shoure the account is clear then putting 1p in credit in it and leaveing it open so it costs the ****s money to send me statements conferming i am in credit by 1p it will cost them ore to post the letter ect than thay will make from me from now on twats.
rant and rave over will now see how the claim processes funny thing though the bank reconised the form/letter i gave them at a glance.
