Cos of the 'vocational and caring' nature of your job Chazz, they know staff won't just walk out and leave people unsupported etc... but you are repsonsible for the care of the tenants/clients/service users, they wouldn't let you drive a car or operate machinery with sleep deprivation and a proper meal break.. but they'll put you in charge of people who depend on you. What happens if you have a mishap... and one of client's gets hurt.. who get's sued you or mencap.. just watch mencap wriggle out of that lawsuit by saying 'we didn't tell our staff member to stay on we just pointed out our staff problems'. Present them with the H&S at work act...and any house regulations you have, and contract and say you cannot operate to your best if tired and without proper facilities..
I know they are a charity.. but.
