Kawasaki VN1500 Meanstreak, or Suzuki Vs1400 Intruder.
Personally I plan to mug Santa for his Honda Valkyrie! I would even go as far as to dribble over Mick and Helen Clarke's Valkyrie!
However, I would settle for a Triumph America in the meantime!

Go for the 1100 cos it will carry you better even if you're built like Friar Tuck.

well to answer your original question, as obviously the virago is the way you want to go ( and nowt wrong with that)
as you and your good lady will be riding seperate bikes, you will find the 750 most adequate the 1100 is the better bike if often ride 2 up with luggage
try and look for a bike with screen etc attatched if thats what you are after as already yamaha do not have these accessories, though most aftermarket places do still
have heard of no major probs on later 750's the 11000 is a bit harsh, aand although share same engine the 1100 viragio, beats a dragstar 1100 hands down
good luck to your wife on her test

As I've recently returned to the fold I thought to myself shall I get an 1100 virago as I used to have a GS1000 semi streetfightered but went for the 535 as I thought the tarmac is not the quality it used to be and round here it's like a map of the himalayas and pine doesn't suit me. Am I ramblin' again, look at the size of that spider..................
I can highly recommend the 750 Viagra. My brother had one for years and it was damn fine. The 1100 is no quicker, 'cos the extra power is compensated for by the extra weight, and I never noticed the 'claimed' extra torque. Reliability wise, it never let him down once, in a good few years that he had it. He bought some open pipes from custom cruisers and it sounded truly apocalyptic. Now personally I like my sp**ts bikes and cruisers aren't my thing, but I borrowed his on a number of occasions, and it was a fucking riot to ride. Go for it, I doubt you'll regret it.
