I am currently using an Avon 18x250 section tyre on a spoked s/s rim with a range rover 16x210 innertube as I have been unable to source anything better. I would now like to use a 300 section tyre on a wider s/s spoked rim but I am concerned about using the aformentioned tube size to inflate it. Does anyone know of a firm that makes the relevent tubes for these tyres or is it possible to seal the rim and use the tyre tubless as intended.

hi freak just checked with my local shop who is the biggest importer of mc tyres in the country.
they say that those avons are made only for tubless rims hense theres no proper inner tube available.
they even guessed what you were doing at the moment range rover tube etc.
sorry
there is no way of sealing a spoked wheel. not one i'd ever recommend anyway.
if you do find a tube please remember that those big avons are not going to be designed to fit the shape of a standard type spoked rim

Cheers for doing that.
Just to clarify one point
if you do find a tube please remember that those big avons are not going to be designed to fit the shape of a standard type spoked rim
Do you mean that the sidewall of the tyre wont seal against the rim?

i get the impression that the rims are especially designed for them so there might be a prob sealing

Course you could use a Harley tube although you'll find that the valve comes out at a funny angle..... probably cos they are Range Rover tubes>? Who knows...

You must have seeen them.... You pump more air into them to fit the wider tyre and then find yourself wearing bandana's, braces and boots with spurs...!
