ok, so whats the handling like on a trike with a solid rear axle, ie no diff, my mates quad is pretty bad for small turning circles, ie it wont, unless you lift the inside wheel or just light the rear end up and go round that way, so was just wondering if trike builders of chain drive trikes will now go with no diff, or continue to go down the proven route of modding the diff etc

my thought was that the increased track width of a trike versus the quad would make the handling matter worse??? am I right??

even though its a pain to ride due to the width etc, the fun factor of watching peoples faces as I go past on the quad on the road is great, and local police havent a clue what to do LOL

running no diff means the trike will always want to go straight.
the wider track will make make it worse yes, as the off side wheel will have to travel a much greater distance than the inside one.
plus the strain will also be felt by the frame the forks front wheel and tyres.

a trike with wide rear tyres and a narrow front one will definitly want to go straight.

i used to drag race a 69 camaro with a spool, which basically does away with the diff, although i could move the car in a straight line by myself, it would take 3 of us to push it in a turn.
