Hmmmm. This (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8068854753&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) may be cheap to buy, but could be expensive to wear.

Is this the same geezer that was advertising 9% badges as well? Which were advertised as hard to get?

Methinks there's someone out there knocking up a load of foneys, and punting them out. I wonder if anyone has pointed him out to the true 1/9%ers?

Just a thought. I like watching Casualty!

I think this is the same guy who has been hawking said patches about on eBay for a while, and I believe has been advised of that. Obviously more interested in making money.

You HA now geff. I would have thought they had their finger on the pulse themselves and I don't know of any patch club that welcomes interference in their affairs from outsiders.

No Im not. I just sent him a polite note to let him know he shouldnt really use their name because I assumed he didnt know any different. It wasnt threatening or anything and I specifically said I was not HA. But he decided to be a smart arse about it. Now, apparently, i dont have a sense of humour (Thats his opinion anyway). But he has changed the title of the advert.

Blue
28-05-2006, 10:06 PM
I did the same thing earlier. And Happybiker, if the Club want to take that up as 'interference', I'm sure they'll speak to me about it. :)

Oooh, our very own enforcer, eh? :D :D

And many sellers don't realise that the term they're using is trademark protected (along with other devices and logos), which is the way to get eBay - which has finally woken up to keyword spamming - to do something under its own VeRO programme.

PILRCGeff

If ebay actually bothered about copyright issues, half the "Harley-Davidson" stuff on there would have to come off. The guy with the clock was actually breaching two peoples copyright in one listing: the HA and H-D. He has now removed all trace of HA from it but I am surprised H-D allows Ebay to get away with the amount of blatant trade mark infringement that goes on.

Taff
29-05-2006, 02:06 AM
Its more the copyright owners responsibility to report it than it is ebay's to watch out for it.
It can be arranged so that the copyright owner can remove the item themselves if in direct breach.
Ebay will do it if it's just taking the piss but not actually crossing the line into legal territory.
There are people who watch and deal with HA stuff.
They aint chained to the PC 24/7 though, there is more important and better stuff for them to be doing as well.

Snap. Every self respecting rocker/greaser/biker or what have you had one in the late 60's early 70's alongside a 69 badge or patch.

before it was deemed 'not right' by others

In the copy right thing , didnt i read somewhere that it comes down to how its written , i.e. Hells Angels , is copyrighted to the club , and Hell's Angels belongs to the Howard Hughes film of that same name.
So that being the case then the light sign would wording be for a film and picture coming from pirates originating with the Temple knights once they were outlawed by king Louis of france in 1307 and took to the sea under the colours of the Jolie Rouge (all red flag) later the Jolly Roger with skull and crossbones ( doubt if that were copyrighted though) although now im waffleing
, and the wording of the title would be using the Club name.
