Both stolen from the BMF site between midnight and 5.30am on Saturday 20th May.
If anyone should happen to see them, be offered them, or have any info please contact Cambridgeshire Police on 08454 564564.
Cheers all,
Womble.
Bloody hell, what happened to the zealous security that several years running have refused to let me into the Memba Rally in the evening to photograph it despite having both press and exhibitors' passes and an NUJ card?
Mind you, I was far from impressed with the marshalling yesterday. I was directed twice round the site by half a dozen marshals who had no idea where anything was, and then wasn't allowed to park where I had a pass to park 'in case I was a bike thief'. By the time I eventually parked up, I was all of thirty seconds away from saying 'F*ck it, I'm turning round and going home', and it's been a long time since I've felt like that at an event

Jeez! Was at the show today. I'm stunned anyone would have the nerve to wheel one bike out of there, let alone two.
Lots & lots of mud there today.
BMF? Big Muddy Field.
Looked at the weather forecast. That's why I went yesterday. :)

I was up there this weekend, and had heard a rumour about 2 bikes being nicked. Hope they get them back, but in these times, it could be in boxes on it's way to Europe by now... :(
Where abouts was that stand located? There were a lot of people out till about 1am when I was still up Friday nite/ Saturday morning.

Even though it's only 30 miles up the road I (and the rest of my club) don't bothert to go to the BMF show any more! Since they opened the whole weekend up to the public there's no real bargains to be had, it seems most people just use it to get rid of all the rubbish they can't shift any other way. The last few times I have been i've never seen so many stalls selling cheap, nothing to do with bikes or biking, crap - and they must sell a lot of it 'cos a pitch at the BMF is not cheap! If you really want to know the difference between bikers and 'motorcyclists' then attend the memba 'rally'! It's too expensive for what you get, you'll be kept awake all night by idiots in dayglo babygros firing up their latest race rep crotch rockets and just bouncing them of the rev limiters for 'fun', and the food stalls are all franchised, expensive, and appallingly bad quality! Since they've built housing all around the site theivery from tents is rife, and evrything closes at midnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a proper club or MAG run rally anytime!

was recently talking to traders who've given up on BMF Show as well.
Used to marshall it years ago. Tore up my BMF membership card the year they let cars and caravans in before bikes and trikes on the Friday afternoon. Was also the year they charged MAG about £400 to set up stall. Wrote a letter to chairman, but he wasn't bothered.

I used to be on the radio on night security ( from 83 - 92) and in the end the lack of resources supplied from the BMF made the job un workable.
I went back breifly a few years ago - but not only was there only 9 security marshals to cover the whole site - BMF said we did not need torches, radios, transport - so we again gave up !!!!!!!!!!!!
And the BMF is only the first big show of the year... Those of you who were at the Welsh National last year may well have noticed that the camp site had no security or gates to stop day visitors wandering over the camp site. I walked about all day without putting on or having to show my pass once. I hope things have been tightened up this year.
