Nik,

Well done mate, loving this issue. Haven't finished reading yet but I am well chuffed. Exactly what I buy the mag for. Good mix of bikes across all catogories, good rally review and plenty of odds and sods.!

Liked the Anglesesa chops story THEN saw the WARTHOG... given me something to aspire to!!! :D :D

Got home from the NABD yesterday to find the new issue on the doormat. Just got round to opening it. 'Tis good. Jokes made me giggle, (always a good reaction for a joke I think), & no doubt I'll be claiming them as my own soon; Trike Torque has wisely not copied Alik's style & is informative but still accessible to the average biker -looking forward to that one coming together; in the same way Odgie's "Peep Show" imparts lots of info but on a level even I can understand, (I really want a big ol' Brit single chop!); Blackjack's "Shed Head" will come in handy when I rewire my trike too!
I know you got some stick when you took over from Pat, Nik, (personally I reckon whoever did would've got the same), but it's looking good so far. A glossier version of the fabled AWOL maybe? The grass roots bikes & idiot-proof techy articles are what sells it to me, (yes, I subscribe).
Oh, & "Goldfish" is good, though maybe too much like BSH's "RamRod". PLEASE shoot Pussbag -& bring back Blim the Pixie! :)

I think Mistress Blue would have something to say about Gruf.........

With a little luck I may see her today at the Basingstoke Transport Festival. I'll ask! I think toons should be free to roam from one mag to another -maybe Gruf could make a cameo appearance to run over Pussbag?

Ogri & Kickstart would happily do the deed. Sorry but pussbag doesn't even make me smirk. Waste of half a page. Can I have my mags 2 pence cheaper & with that bit missing?

I hate pussbag as well and could quite happily see him run over what i do like however are the nipples on the young lady who is draped over the bike on the subscription page :p they are like chapel hat pegs. :D

Ahh, quality conversation, that's why I come here! Wasn't she featured on the recent pull-out rally calendar thingy?
It's an old subject, but I've got to admit, I prefer to see the bikes. Maybe I'm just getting old, but plenty of other mags & even newspapers showing young ladies in states of undress. I buy bike mags to see bikes. :)

i dont mind young folk in the magazines
but always like to see some unadorned pics of bike

Yeah, I'm not that straight-laced! Just annoys me when they're always covering the interesting little engineering ideas you want to pinch! Especially if the write up mentions something & you can't see it in the piccies.

I miss Rich King's artwork. Beautifully done with some clever little sight gags going on in the background. Paul Sample's Ogri in Bike magazine works in the same kind of way. Both have drawn bikes that have inspired me to rework my own real life machines.

The thing with Rich King tho' apart from his stuff in American V (which the Righteous Brothers appear in now and again) is that most of his work was at the start of his career...

I've not seen this Goldfish character yet, so can't cast an opinion either way!

THEN saw the WARTHOG... given me something to aspire to!!! :D :D

Just got two more crackin' rats/survivalists too - an insane Gixer with a female mannequin as the bodywork and the winner of the R&S which is just ab-so-lute-ly teapot!

Trying to work it so that there's a matt blacker (or similar) in each issue 'cos they're my favourites by far.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. :)

aahh got the zine! Really like it because it's a good mix of top customs and low-budget(ish) homemade stuff. Although I'm a fan of the lowbudget stuff myself :D
