planning on buying a kuryakin hypercharger for the vtx 1800 at the bike show. i know the mag had a feature on these not long ago but, i would'nt mind having a go at fitting one myself. i am not very mechanically minded so can i expect any problems?

the above will take you to about 200 reviews of the kit and the vtx. sounds simple enough to fit

Recently fitted a Hypercharger Pro to a kawasaki 1500 Mean Streak. This took about 3 hours to do and resulted in 2 large boxes of bits removed from bike.

Must be done in conjunction with a set of pipes for the increased airflow and a Powercommander III USB for the fuelling (that took half an hour to fit). When all complete take it to a rolling road Dyno centre to get it mapped in correctly.

Get a Dyno run done first to establish the stock figures and then fit the kits and have it set up - that takes 3 hours on the rolling road and costs about £150.

The difference is astounding, but how much of that is due to the hypercharger is hard to tell unless you dyno it in stages after each modification.
