I am assuming its law to have mudguards fitted to the rear or a trike, but upon reading through the msva manual I can't find anything about them, sizes, angles etc.

Am i just plain stupid and blind?

What are the laws on them, dont want them covering up half the tyre you see, but dont want to fail msva because of it, cos mudguards are pretty expensive to fuck up.

Dont think that you need mudguards on a trike, as under construction and use it states that mudguards are required when the vehicles wheels protrude from its bodywork, and trikes dont usually have bodywork.

Sure I've done this one before but can't be bothered to dig out the thread.

Mudguards not a specific requirement for MSVA for bike trikesbut are an in use requirement under C&U.

As I've said before they make a bloody useful place to put all sorts of lamps that are needed.

Bodied (think sit inside not on) trikes have to have specific parts of the wheels covered by mudguards.

I did have a quick search through old posts but couldnt find anything.

I was going to have mudguards anyway, as my frame is quite narrow id have to have lights on long storks otherwise! But I was worried about them not covering enough of the tyre. Am going to have quite a small sweep you see.

Thanks for the help!
Dan.
