Anyone know how to part virtically split cases without paying someone to do it or buying special tools, etc... My bro tried once with screw drivers, kinda put me off a bit! Got to be done though. :confused:

yes always good fun this one.
some casses have bosses cast into them to insert a lever. never lever on the cases mating surfaces.
ensure everything is removed from the outer cases check there are no missed bolts hidden by other parts.
warm the cases with a hot air gun, protect the crankshaft threads with a nut and only use a nylon/rubber hammer.
if it sperates unevenly you can insert hard nylon wedges, hardwood ones work also.
main thing is take your time some vertical cases cannot be hurried.
