what about www.70withalicense.com? :D
jonny you know mines fine and groovy it had 58 thou on the clock when I bought with a full and stamped R(over) service history, kept up the servicing with a trusted inde. Cambelt has to be changed at 60 thou so at 70 thou it either been done or its about to grenade itself......====big bucks. Expensive to insure for what it is, Honda engine is not much more powerfull than the Rover 1400 .....AND NO MORE RELIABLE......... at 70 thou its either a much loved, one retired owner minter, or a dog. Worth about 600 quid to 1K With a fsh. Lots of different specs too, so is it a welfare one or wot ?????

Sighs inwardly.....
If its got a Honda engine then no problem as long as it's had a modicum of servicing and an oil change once in a while.
If its got a Rover engine, hmmmm, might be a different story.....
Don't expect all the electrics to work (or "it has build quality issues..."), but as for actually starting and getting you places not a problem if its got a Honda motor. Some of them have a Honda engine, some of them have a K series Rover motor apparently (according to my resident expert....). The K series is a good engine, but it can occasionally go tits up. When people say its a good engine they mean its light weight, good bhp per pound, and so on. Unfortunately these are the sort of people who rebuild engines for fun....
Just type Rover 416 into Google......

"SIGH"
K series is fine If you dont let it overheat, then it warps the alloy head and the top end goes tits up, same as every other Alloy engine on the planet. Servicing is everything , remember the K series is still one of the most modern engines around everyone from Lotus to Caterham to Range Rover were happy with them but No modern engine can be boged on the cheap.......Ford are still using the crap CVH engines and the K is far better....
PPL bad mouth the K series cos its trendy to do so
bad toad

just to add the k series is alloy block aswell!!!! so if the heads warped so,s the block!! be warned!
had one, don't now, window seals are crap and don't shut properly, also they have the worlds most tempremental bog standard immobiliser, they don't like getting wet and won't open or start if they feel that way inclined... other than that was comfortable when it wanted to work... know 5 people had same prob with them mine was an m reg, had 2 rovers an they both had naff imobilisers and windows .....
I had a 414 back in the day and loved it... bit of a rover fan last car was a rover 25. you either love em or hate em. 400 series was a damn site better than the equivelant vectras of the day... I'd go rover. mate just got shot of a 214 they'd had for donkeys.
Dunno bout the little 'uns.
Had a 820i, was brilliant, dint run too well on no oil, it blew up, watch for that...
T'old man's got a 620, had it years, never missed a beat.

i was going to put a k serie sengine in my trike, but was warned to steer clear of em, they warp both heads and blocks, if they so much as think of overheating ! scrapyard i get some of my bits from has 15 kseries engined cars in at moment, and every single 1 has some form of head/block problem

Jeez!
Get a Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi! Bloody good motor!
Nah.
Get a long wheelbase 4 litre V8 BMW 7 series.
Black and shiny, blacked out all round.
Looks bad as fck parked on the old mans drive for a year while i potter about in a Escort diesel van, till i can afford to run the bastard.
Just comforting knowing it's there...

I think the real question is, is it gonna be better then my little Rover metro (1.1)?
I looks nicer, just been serviced and is fully MOT'ed and Taxed for the next 12 months and is cheap!!! :D
I dont have the money to play with really, and as I have just got a slightly more advanced role in work I will be traveling alot more which means I would like something that gives a little more power and leg room then my little metro (gawd bless her!) :D

Check the trilby rest and pipe rack. Early N reg where made of walnut, like the engine, whereas after N, they were made of plastic so as you could rest a half sucked Werthers on it without staining.
don't buy a 199x mitsubishi pajero 2.5 turbo deisel with a previous owner who never used oil.. wot you get is a fuckin expensive project!!! could f bought a good trike for the amount i've spent!
