Got the Triumph running after its winter hibernation today, thought it was going to be a right ball ache but after a service, fresh fuel and a new battery it fired up straight away. I did take the precaution of draining the carbs before putting it away last year but in my experience even doing this dont stop carbs from guming up. After riding my go to work XJ650 all winter it felt like I took off up the road with my legs trailing behind, I know its a long way from being the fastest thing on the road but the performance difference between an XJ650 and a Triumph 1200 is enourmous. Heading down the South coast in a fortnight on it with a mate.
Sorry, probably of little interest to everyone else but I'm feeling good about it so thought I would share.
