after knockin up 25k in debts..we had people ringing up everyday chasing us for money and letters (they must have wiped out a few forests to remind us how much we owed)
(which we have just paid off) we no-longer get any post or phone calls...i am going back into debt.

but on a more serious note though.
if its credit cards and store cards (and you already have bad credit, then tell them to piss off and send it to the enforcment agency ..cuz the interest Stops when they do)
and when making offers to pay always state that you have other debts andcan only offer to pay nominal ammounts until some of the smaller ones are payed off

and as for these companies that offer to help,,,,avoid them at all costs cuz they just seem to make things worse, just work out what you can pay split it between the companies send them a letter with the accounts you worked out and there is very little they can do about it..if they decline your offer of payment then asked them for that in writing cuz that will help mitigate you if it goes to court..and dont forget a court wont order you to pay more than you have.

Blimey.
and is'nt it funny that no matter how in debt you are theres always some credit card company that 'in principle' has accepted you as a new customer.

You can get credit if you are up to your eyes in debt!! But I struggled to get a loan because I never had credit so did'nt have any credit history, It's bloody crazy

We no longer have credit cards or loans, we just spend what we have. Any day now the interest rates will start rising and three quarters of the country will be f*cked and go bankrupt!!!!

the spectre of negative equity looms on the horizon for a lot of people. they took out massive mortgages and now there is a real possibility that property prices will fall. bummer.

Not us, I bought my first house 20 years ago when house prices were around 20-30 grand for a decent size house so we've only got a small mortgage. We're not taking any chances though because I remember when interest rates hit 15% around 10 years ago (I think). All these people who spend like there's no tomorrow and are stupidly lured by "lifestyle" magazines into thinking they must have expensive loft apartments and fashion victim shoes and clothing on credit are all muppets who will soon be sliding down skid row on their arses!!!
I haven't even taken out a loan to help me through uni, I'm working my way through with the assistance of the lovely Mitch:)

there you go mrs r. we have only got 3 year left on our mortgage. nobody though, could have forecast how house prices would sky rocket upwards. i just don't know how first time buyers sleep at night. god, listen to us we sound all grown up!. right its pub time and i'll get back into character later. :D
