Anyone know of any cars that are good for 6 foot 6 blokes?
Been looking for another car to replace my Astra but i cant find a great deal that doesnt cramp me up. There was a Ford Focus Estate which was ok and a new shape Vectra which was good but out of my price range. Most 4x4's are crap for room and so called people carriers are bloody useless for tall people. Its bloody frustrating.
Budget is going to be around 3500 quid or so and i need a hatchback or estate for my camping and climbing gear etc. Would like a towbar to.
Anyone got any ideas on big sized cars (interior wise)?

Jester's never had any probs with the 4x4 - just an old Trooper. Would have thought something like that would do you a treat. Good off road, the Citation are a high enough spec to be used as a car rather than as a truck. Cheap to buy, plenty of spares. And if you take the front end out, you can get a bike in the back if you take the rear seat out. Has an underseat heater that works without the engine running so if you camp in the truck its nice and warm ....
I love it. Happily drive it as often as I can bear not going fast ;)

beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)
I know where there is a Isuzu Trooper going real cheap if you are interseted mate. Runs well, but needs some TLC.
About to be scrapped only coz its in the way and the guy has no time to do her up.
And he is 6'4'' and has no probs with leg room..............
Just an idea like.

Cheers for the ideas. I need summat sorted Juke as my Astras ok but i do a lot of miles with going backwards and forwards to Wales etc. There is other considerations but dont want to go into them until after Friday :D We do need 2 cars though and although we have a new truck, its a bugger if i use it to go away at weekends as it leaves Dawn with whats turning into an unreliable car.
Tim, Volvos not a bad idea mate. Its a shame they hold their money so well for the sort i'd want.
I doubt i'd get a new shape Mondeo for 3500 quid Shaggy which is a shame as they are big cars, same goes for the vectra's. just a bit out of my price range unfortunatly.
Sandra, whats this Fiat? Sounds interesting and i aint bothered about looks Ade otherwise i wouldnt have had you in my car mate :D
I like your truck Minxy, just worried about the miles i do mate and stuff i cant go into just yet. :D

You may laugh, but have you considered a Citroen Zsara Picasso. Personally I hate the look of the things, but my brother in law bought one last year (He's 6' 3"), and he loves it.
There's an amazing amount of space in them for camping etc - my sister takes everything - including the kitchen sink and there's bags of room. Rear seats remove dead easily - even by brother in law can do it and he's not technically minded.
We travelled to Manchester airport in it, 4 people, 4 VERY big cases and 4 lots of hand luggage no problem. His is a 1.9 and gets decent mpg.

Already got a Navara mate, dont need 2 trucks.
Ade. Didnt have the Vitara mate, had a Samurai for offroading. It actually had more room than the Vitara but so bloody expensive to run. Would only do 30 miles to the gallon tops, usually about 20mpg. Made our Navara look frugal on fuel it did :D

Yeah, it was the forester i was looking at. Would be ideal for what i do. Pity about the Land Rover but i know the Discovery aint to cracky either thats why ive hesitated. Funny, but Jonny bought up the Vitara. Ive actually been looking at them and theyre reliable, just crappy paint work on the older ones and rusty chassis. i think theyre a bit more sorted now though. Must check one out for room me thinks :D

But the VX220 has more power and better handling similar top speeds (only a couple of mph in it)
the elise is clumsier and less powerfull - but its far prettier, and i would have one over the VX anyday ohhhh and as for the exige
ps i would never be able to get into or out of one LOL
