spent all day yesterday building the young lads new hi/rise bed with computer station type thing. you know the flat pack things, well i did it and there are no spare bits left over, cool or what, if only i could do the same with engines and bike wiring :D

You'll never build an engine without having something left over. Thats how I make myself feel better anyway by thinking that everyone else is as crap as me.

carefull you will be doing kitchen cupboards next and then its a slippey slope to tiling /wall[papering etc etc

I wouldnt use it. No flat pack is structerly sound unless bits are left over :D

flat packs? oh deep joy. (not). i did a 'foreigner' a few weeks back which was a fitted kitchen from ikea. after everything was assembled and fitted it turned out to be missing two doors and cornice. went to ikea to pick up the missing pieces only to be told it would be 5 weeks before they would arrive. :mad: turns out the units are produced in estonia (or was it latvia?) and they only send out stocks to the various branches by the container load.

if i was fibbing i would have said i did it without the instructions while stuffing a haggis and whistlin maries weddin balanced on the crossbar of a rusty butchers bike, :p :p
