to cut a long story short, she had the meeting and things were sorted out. she is demanding an appology from the teacher {who she did not see} or she is going to the local papers, and the board of education.

It does seem a little harsh.. however.. and I will tread carefully.. am a ginger meself naturally and was bullied for years at school for it...was the only ginger kid in my year... if this was a one of incident.. and he just shouted..'oih ginger' and has not repeatedly done it etc etc.. then fine it's o.t.t. IF he has made it his campaign to tease the ginger kid.. then maybe racist is not the angle but bullying would be.

It depends and I tread carefull again cos the whole racist thing will blow up here.. racism isn't just about nationality, religion, sex, disablity, colour of your skin, it's about anything that singles you out to be a targeted minority.


And sorry having grown up being taunted by nasty evil little ****es who thought it was funny to flush my head down the loo to see if it really was ginger and not dyed or to have boys run in the girls changing rooms to see if it was true....and shout.. well the obvious... maybe the parent of the ginger haired child had had enough.

Well I married a redhead (natural) and my eldest is red and has had some problems with bullying, but this cannot be called racist, being a twatt yes but not racist. The teacher themselves are twatts for taking it this far and causes nothing but grief for all involved.

yep any vulnerability will be targeted and abused...it's the nature of kids and etc... Half the reason I became a demon on the hockey pitch at 16 was to 'accidently' smash a few ankles and hit a few heads... got some revenge for it.. funnily enough they soon forgot what colour my hair was and just looked out for the dodgy hockey stick in p.e.. :D

Most Gingers are of Celtic origin (Central Europe) so genetically you probably have more in common with the Kosovan Refugees than any 'True Brit' (if they actually exist). I do believe we have been through all this True Brit/Scot/Welsh/irish stuff before). :p
