View Full Version : How do I stop the itching

I know this is going to incite loads of piss taking, especially from the likes of Dracken and Yoda but here goes.
I've got chicken pox and the calomine lotion is not stopping the itching so I'm looking for your obvious sensible solutions. Preferably not sticking a limb at a time into an embarrassed sheeps arse to cool it down, like I know that Dracken does to help his sun burn.

according to the wife who works in a pharmacy, take an anti Hystermin (like periton) tablet, have a warm bath with some bicarbinate of soda and then use some calamine aquaious cream.

oh boy i cannot begin to tell you how tempted i was to tell you to use parafin and a wire brush.
but i won't we'll use good old fashioned welsh witchcraft.
i take it is pox not shingles?
you can get pox from being in contact with someone who has shingles
1 oz. dried Rosemary
1 oz. dried Calendula
2 pints. water
Clean soft cloth
Combine the Rosemary and Calendula with the water in a covered saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Take the pot off the heat and steep the herbs for 15 minutes.
Strain out the herbs through fine cheesecloth and discard them.
Cool the wash to a comfortably warm temperature for applying to skin. Refrigerate any unused portion of the wash and reheat with each use.Discard any remaining wash after 3 days.
Application: This wash is most effective when applied right after a bath.(bath can be found in a dictionary :p ) Apply the wash as warm as possible, but not so warm that it is uncomfortable to the irritated skin. Dip a soft cloth in the wash, and wring it outso that it is not dripping but is quite damp. Press it gently on the infected skin where needed. Do not rub! This will only cause more oozing and irritation.Let the wash air-dry on the skin. Perform this treatment once each night until the skin is clear, which, depending on the condition, is usually 2 days to 1 week.
it will also help if you run around hansworth shouting national front. you'll soon forget the itching :D
I suggest getting some ramming speed up
and ramming the bike into the side of a lorry
..
Thats what i did..trust me you will forget about the itching
...
see its a proven cure..nothing wrong with me now is there........

Dracken I'll give this a try, although coming from you I've got a feeling that my leg will drop off. :D
Thanks though, I am going to try it.
Makes me feel terrible because both the girls had chicken pox last year and when they were moaning which was probably not as much as I've been doing today, all I could do was say, "Don't worry it'll soon be better"
As for running around Handsworth shouting National Front, it'd be like going up to the club house in Wolverhampton and trying to nick a bike.

Yup! Clopheramenamine otherwise known as piriton! 4 mgs every 4 hours. This will stop the cells producing histomine. Thats wots irritating the nerves causing the itching. Just to supliment this you could try some brufen as well. 400 mgs every 6 hours. Ibrobrufen can be bought over the counter as well as piriton. This is the best thing for yer itchin unless you have access to morphine! I dont think you can get that very easily. BUT... I cAN! hahahah! :)
and if all that fails buy some soft velvet mittens and get someone to tie your hands in em so if you do scratch you won't cause any damage!
:D
remember when my kids had chicken pox
male child whimpered over every spot that appeared and took to his bed
female child ran around like the wild child she was (and still is) didn't moan (drastic changes there..!!) and acted like nowt was wrong
:D

Its a long time since you've been to Dudley. The Wrens Nest pub has changed its name to The Duncan Edwards. If The Wrenners reputation as the thieves local has reached Borth, its a good job too.
