View Full Version : Scrunchies......

My friend & her 12 year old daughter were taking the p!ss out of me last night, for having a scrunchie in my hair. They said they were totally uncool and frumpy, and that they were as bad as legwarmers, and to remove it @ once. I refused saying it's practical, and that I'm not exactly going anywhere, like out to a club or anything where I wouldn't wear one. But they said they wouldn't even be seen dead doing housework wearing one, and didn't I see Sex in the City where Carrie quoted "no one in New York wears scrunchies, it's so uncool!". I said yes I had seen it, but I'm not in New York, and they are practical, and that I have a few different ones to match my casual atire, like a camoflage one and a leopard print one......to this they almost p!ssed themselves laughing. :o

Now then, am I being frumpy if I wear my scrunchie?
Or is my mate & her daughter just being over fussy?

And would you mind voting in my poll?

Wear what the hell you want to what right do peaple have to say what another person wears if these are your so called friends then ditch them. Why cant peaple leave others alone to get on with their lives as they want to live them this sort of thing p!sses me off big style

If you have to worry about your street cred, then you don't have any.

"The Monks of Cool, whose tiny and exclusive monastery is hidden in a really cool and laid-back valley in the lower Ramtops, have a passing-out test for a novice. He is taken into a room full of all types of clothing and asked: Yo, my son, which of these is the most stylish thing to wear? And the correct answer is: Hey, whatever I select."

I wear them all the time - nothing wrong with 'em and Huw BM is quite right about the monks of cool. Lets face it how often have you laughed at the latest street fashions and thought the wearers look like muppets, Victoria Beckham is a prime example of this!
I think everyone should wear what suits them and what they want to and stuff fashion.

Oh yeah, and any woman found wearing a flat cap (Madonna for instance) should be shot at dawn.

On the Madonna front...

Moving to the country and then dressing like you've lived in the country for years, in your nice new Barbour and Hunter wellies doesn't make you part of the country, it just makes you look like you've had the letters "o", "r" and "y" removed.

Scrunchies are practical and wont give you split ends but I think it looks awful when you see someone with about 10 in thier hair uurrghhhhh!!!

And cool is what you feel happy wearing not what others expect you to wear.

Wear what you like but I'll be the first to take the piss out of you if you wear a leg warmer in your hair. :D
The only time I'd wear a legwarmer in my hair is if it had slipped off Kylie's ankle. ;)

now I tend to agree that certain things which become 'the height of fashion' look terrible if worn after the 'fad' has died off

things like, legwarmers, those wierd comb things which made yer pony tail look like a mane (very 80s), ra ra skirts, pedal pushers, dungarees, white strappy stilletos, berets etc etc etc

you all know the stuff I mean

but

I'd never wear anything that was a 'fad' or 'trendy' in the first place.

there's loads of stuff I'd love to wear but can't cos they don't suit me.

so I wear whatever I like if it suits me and isn't a fad.

But who cares what 'sex and the city' do anyway? (big pile of cr@p programme - and have you seen what that wifey in it wears in public??? nooooo, not to be emulated)

Sheep follow trends and do what they see others do

DON'T BE A SHEEP

be a wolf instead :D

but then again who are we to tell you what to do or wear? makes us as bad as yer mate and daughter eh?

gawd life can be so complicated..!!

Do not put chocolate confectionery products in your hair. Use a hair band that is elasticated.

By the way your choice of font colour is discriminating against people with a visual impairment.

with kindest regards
