I met my first wife through the church that my parents went to, it was'nt your usual church..........perhaps you have heard of the Plymouth Brethren?, well my parents belonged to a "meeting" of these seriously weird people but of course being brought up in it as it were, as a child I did'nt know any different although as a teenager I rebelled big style....anyway, I met my first missus at a Saltburn Christian Weekend, this was really a thinly disguised brainwashing exercise where the captive audience learned or more correctly were preached at ad nauseum by "elders" and seriously indoctrinated with exhortations to embrace "spiritual things"........
To be honest, all I wanted to do was embrace this cracking bit of stuff that my mate was hanging on to.
I was 13 years old and already I was lost to christianity, consumed as I was by "carnal things".........Hell fire, what 13 year old kid is'nt for gawd's sake... my best friend had been my right hand for quite a while, it was mine and I had decided that I would polish it as often as I felt like it..........
By age 15, she and I were "going steady" as it was called then, she was 17 and jeeesssuuus was I in love........
At 17 we were engaged although we got a lot of flak from both her and my, family. My mother did'nt speak to me for three months.
At 19 n a bit, she and I were wed, the full monty "Plymouth Brethren" do, my mother had threatened to boycott the whole thing but turned up anyway and then proceeded to conduct the whole enterprise like a military campaign.
Roll forward to 2000 when my missus died from a brain tumour of the big C variety, I nursed her for seven years, the hardest seven years of my life (except when on secondment to some piss quick African President's Staff College.......) believe me. We had been wed for near on 30 years....
Now, as to the second, we met through the pervy ads in our local weekly rag would you believe, a habit of peeking is hard to break after many hours spent with me right eye glued to a nightsight sniperscope..........she was looking for a no strings but loyal companion,...... me? .......I was just there for the sex...........
We exchanged letters (mine on asbestos paper) and phone calls for a couple of weeks before we actually met and after three meetings I wanted more than just a companion who incidentally was a gold medallist in sleepchamber gymnatics, yes I was in love again and it felt ssssoooooo good.
We wed in 2003, made in heaven it definitely ain't , more like a wrongful arrest followed by an indefinate period on remand with an occasional parole and the special day trip to planet sex.........
Both marriages brought family along in the fullness of time, my two fine lads of whom I am so proud, one like me now in uniform serving H.M. the Queen and Prince Regent Blair, the other a Third Engineer on an Oil Rig Safety and Support Vessel.
No grand kids here so obviously the lads don't take after "thor fatha".....
Two fine stepsons too, one a computer engineer, the other self employed in the building game.
Four grandkids here, two little angel grandaughters who I would die for.
Er, sorry...........lost the plot a bit there.....What was the question again????

No idea how I very first met the other half, we'd known each other for about nine years when we were with other partners, I'd even photographed one of his bikes for AWoL. Ran into each other again at the Bulldog in 2000. Sparks flew. Everyone gave us a week.

BL has just pointed out that we actually physically met in a pub somewhere between Basingrad and Oxford. We'd been communicating electronically up to then.
Spent the evening gazing into each other's eyes, then I asked what she wanted to do next. If you've met her, you can guess what that was.
So I'm on the bike giving it some around the twisties, she's in her Vectra trying to keep up, back to my place.
She never left.

Met my ex wife whilst doing some fundraising round the local pubs. My first words to her were 'give me all your money'. Oddly enough, those were her last words to me :(
I knew it was doomed really. We weren't well matched. I'm a Virgo and she was a bitch-slut from hell............
She was the result of a mixed marriage. Her mother was German and her father was a shepherd............
The end came when she went to the shops for some milk and never came home. I was devastated! I don't like black coffee..........
Cheers,
Byrnie.

We met on the internet, in a chat room. We were good friends for a fair few years.
I was stationed in Korea when we decided to go the next step, then on leave I flew to here and not long after we were married. I finished in the Army soon after then she came to the states to get me and we both came home.
Romantic? Maybe some then, but now it is everday, I married my best friend :p

24th November 1989
A MAG 'do at the Grovehill Pub, Beverley-something to do with Fred Hill, but with E Yorks MAG, any excuse for a piss up
went with friend-I was living in Bradford at the time.
Friend told me a background on the people there-recommended I steer away from Phil as he was "bad news" (she had had a fling with him, and he had blown her out)
So, only interesting person in room was Phil, as it happens, so we had a great argument about the Poll Tax,as thats where I was working at the time.
Love blossomed from there !
Still together 16+ yrs later, married 15 years this october!

Ive had people say bad about meeting on the net, but just as much as you do in a bar, or a grocery store, or even a church, as long as its right, and your both honest about it, who is to say it is wrong in how you met?
What impressed me most about my wife is that while we were exclusive, I was in Korea and she absolutely trusted me and what I said, regardless about the stigmata placed on soldiers (we are dogs and ESPECIALLY when we are away, we houndog anything). That trust made me absolutely KNOW she was right, and then getting to really know one another I found we were almost identical in what we loved and hated, but shes perrttier than me :D

i was caving down a pothole called kingsdale master cave in the yorkshire dales in november 1986, and i bumped into her coming down a laddered pitch. she jumped the last 3 foot off the ladder, and i caught her! and it was one of those BANG! moments, i knew the instant i set eyes on her that we were going to be together, and so did she. we went out the next week(she lived just 4 miles from me as a coincidence) and we were maried on 29th feb 1988. still together today and have 2 kids.

It was pure fate that we got together.
I was working for Pickfords removals in Hastings, East Sussex when I had to unload a driver from Lincoln depot.
He was depressed as he had just split with his girlfriend & I was single after being released from mine.
He said he was gonna try the free paper back home to look for someone but, I wasn't too keen on idea at first, then about a week later I enquired into one of the ads & it was then I met my wife, Kate.
That was 10 years ago & we have been together ever since & have 2 lovely daughters, Rachel & Jessica.
The best thing I ever did was look in the free paper that week. :D

The love of my life was actually going out with my best mate before me.
She was having a hard time and needed somebody to talk to.
I know where you dirty-minded sods are going with this, but that ain't what happened.
He was my best mate, I tried to talk her into over-looking his flaws and staying with him. However, the flaws a bloke can overlook in a mate don't work the same in a male/femlae relationship.
On the night they split, Kel asked me if she could crash at my place. I helped her carry all her stuff from his place to mine, supposedly til the next day.
Eight years and two kids later the stuff is still here.
We spent the first month going in to the pub 5 minutes apart to spare his feelings. When I finally turned round and said 'Can we stop playing this ****, you know what's happened', he shook my hand and said 'Look after her, she's a good 'un'.
Apparently, what turned her on to me was I was the only person not trying to break them up to get in her knickers.
What turned me on to her was she wasn't just playing at a relationship, but genuinely trying to make it work. An honest person!
Cheers,
Byrnie.

Was going out with my mates sister and she said we were going to visit her mate. Bike was shagged so we got the train but as the train pulled out, she got off! Thinking to myself that she had got off for some purpose, I waited at the other end to see if she turned up on the next train. She didn't so I went to her friends to try and shed some light on it, which is where I found out I'd been dumped. However her mate fancied me (Women do love to arrange things, don't they) and we started dating. She was 15 and I was 17 and her mother hated me (very middle class). She got pregnant and still not 16 and I wanted to marry her and make things right 'cos I loved her like crazy. She miscarried and we wed 3 years later. We were together for 17 years and she fecked off with my best mate (and admitted to 5 affairs in the intervening years). She didn't want me, but hadn't found anything better. Had a few girlfriends and then met my second wife through the lonley hearts in the local rag. Lasted two years and we knew it was no good and split up.
The lady who is now my greatest friend and comfort is Babs, whom I met when her fella dumped her. I didn't know her well but I knew her Ex (a biker who NEVER had a bike on the road) and a tosser to boot. He was a control freak who ruined a beautiful person and has prevented her from being all she could have been. We are friends, no sex, no hassle and no pressure. I would love to make her mine, but have to face the fact that it will probably never happen. I'd rather have her has a great mate and companion than lose her...... :)

Met my first when he was going out with my mate - she treated him rotten and I thought he was sweet so I decided to take him away from her and did - so what happened after served me right I guess! We married, I gave up my good job to move to Dorset for his job, got pregnant, when I was 7 months gone he disappeared with the tart from next door. He took his dog, she left her sick baby!
Met the next one at a party I'll never forget! No it wasn't cos of him - as a single Mum I didn't get out a lot, and hadn't realised that the fashion for 'hot pants' had given way to long dresses..... He kept having nervous breakdowns cos he couldn't handle stress so we parted company ....
Met Mike at work a number of years later, didn't even like him at first but he asked me out and somehow we got along quite well... and somehow we ended up married. Had our ups and downs but it'll be eighteen years in June so I suppose something must have been right, just not sure what!

Me and the missus have known each other pretty much all our lives.
We first got together when she was 16 then we went our seperate ways for about 4 years until we got back together again about 12 years ago... been married 7 years I think, yeah that sounds about right cause it was the year I bought me black yam :D
Funny how blokes always remember the important bits :D :D

The lady who is now my greatest friend and comfort.
We are friends, no sex, no hassle and no pressure. I would love to make her mine, but have to face the fact that it will probably never happen. I'd rather have her has a great mate and companion than lose her...... :)
have a friend like that also ewok
not a bad thing really

Met the missus at a work collegue's leaving do! Three weeks later asked her to marry me? (must've been drunk!) Three months later moved in together in 1985! Got married on September 3rd 1988. (How do I remember? World War 2 broke out Sept. 3rd 1939, and it's still going on in my house!)
No kids, (out of choice!) but still together, she's my bestest mate!
