I have 12 days holiday left this year. The holiday year ends in 12 working days time...

This morning I left a message for my boss, asking if I could take Monday and Tuesday of next week off work.

I got a message back saying that he wasn't happy about me leaving the office unmanned for two days. Bearing in mind that, for the past ten years, I have been the sole occupant of this building, does this mean I am no longer permitted to take any holidays?

Then, to top it all, he rings me and asks if I can spend this afternoon taking his wife for an appointment on the other side of Manchester.

So, let me get this straight... I can't leave the office empty when I want time off, but it's OK to leave it empty so I can ferry his wife about?

Reality check please!

Oh yeah, and I've still not had an answer as to whether or not I can have the time off. He says he'll talk to me about it later. I think it will be a very interesting conversation.

There's a danger he wouldn't pay!

Anyway, his wife is quite pally with me, so I shall have a few digs about it when I've got her captive in my car. She'll just nag him until I get what I want :D

I just got a bollockin off our gaffer for makin a brew 2 minute before break...ooh sounds like an Iron tea maiden track..
We then get a lecture about how such behavior could effect our futures..

We're all down the road in 2 months time ffs.!!!
I nodded then laffed pointed out the pending redundancies, then offered him a brew. He just walked off.

When bosses are talking about improving productivity they are never talking about improving their own.....

While we're on the subject of bosses how is it that we have had to cut back on the amount of drills and stuff that we use as the firm need to save money but it has suddenly become imperative that the workshop manager has a new Mercedes company car when it's main use is for picking his kids up from school

I remember when our lot was closing down our local office ,they told all the staff who were being made redundant, that leaving the company before redundacy day would result in a reduced or no payout, then moaned when no one did feck all for 2 months.

sometimes bosses need to firmly remove thier heads from thier own backsides, does make me laff when our company go on about theres a lack of loyalty from the staff these days, i always reply how loyal is the company to those it made redundant, funnily enough i've never been given an answer

The Boss's wife is a crackin' lass. She said that the boss is a cheeky cnut for getting me to give her a lift (it ended up a 4 hour round trip) and yet whingeing about me wanting days off, so she rang him and gave him a bollocking:D

Result!

Well she gave me a tenner for fuel anyway. Wage negotiations should be about now too. I'm gonna ask for another £6k. He'll faint and then when he comes round, we'll start the haggling.
