somewhere in the region of 155 ish in a vauxhall corsa, that was very interesting, need all 3 lanes to keep the lil shopping trolley in check LOL
bikes I guess the quickest is whatever a 750SRAD will do flat out, not standard, but the speedo wasnt working when I first picked it up, dodgy connection on the plug, fixed it a couple of days later and scared me self, should have left it disconnected LOL

LOL you reminded me of my mates reliant kitten, bright yellow, carbon spoiler on the roof,a lloys etc, makes a bit of a noise
was at brooklands in kent and some local boyracers thought they would take the piss out of it, sadly none of them had a good engouh look to see the fully rosejointed and coilovered suspension setup, or realised that its got a cosworth lump, well breathed on and running 75bhp of gas LOL
that thing is rapid, but drive over a coin and you can tell if its heads or tails

Fastest car was in a Lambo Diablo before it was unceremoniously wrapped around a lamp post - bout 160/170.
Everyday transport is fast enough and I have been egged up to 140 by a Scooby in the Calibra 4x4T but I dont like it.
Fastest on a bike was pillion on a T595 at indicated 175
Riding myself was my wee 750M out the other week when it 'did the clock' which is 160.
Time I slowed down.

Much scarier on the dirt/sand i was clocked at over ninety (by a real nutter on a homemade GPZ 900 dirt bike with a speedo who went past me!) down the straight at the weston beach race on a CR450R Elsinore a truly mean motocrosser that handled like crap but had so much explosive 2 stroke power it only had a 4 speed box which it would regularly destroy, on the road 150 ish on a R1.

That reminds me of me riding down the hill in Ramsey, on the back of Stef's wheelchair. Crossing over the train lines was, erm, interesting, but the method of stopping was fun - straight into the kerb, catapulting us both onto the pavement

I wasn't going to admit this......but what the hell, everyone else has admitted theirs.
184 mph on a tuned ZZR 1100.
On my current bike, Z 750, I tend to keep to around 85-90 on the motorways cos I managed to melt on of the cams on a previous engine at 115 on the M6. Which was nice........

Slingshot's drummer, one fine summer's evening at the turn of the century as we were out for a ride, let me on his Thunderace and urged me to 'see what she'll do'.
This was in Newmarket... now there's a dead long straight coming out of Newmarket heading towards the M11 with a roundabout at the end with a chuffin' great horse on it.
Being summer and just cruising around, I had on an open face trials lid - complete with peak and goggles.
So. Went for it - was determined to finally crack the one-six-oh - and as I was approaching the roundabout at 158 - the peak on the helmet, due to the wind pressure, folded neatly in half in front of my eyes...
After sitting up and braking sharply... the peak promptly went in the ditch - and I got back on my bike and went off home for some clean underwear!
Also - it's probably a good idea I no longer havethe R & R Limo II - being a V6 Mondeo estate, it was good for 135 when upsetting BMW owners - however the handling did get a bit bouncy at that speed... wife's MR2 is much more at home at 140!!!

Erm!
When I had a K100RS in the days when I ran a courier service, I had to do a "blood run" from Kettering General to the John Radcliffe in Oxford with a Heart for a transplant. because of the urgency I had to have two police escorts on Pan Europeans. I tell you, those cops can bloody ride! One went a head and stopped the traffic, and the other acted as outrider. we went through northampton at about 50-60mph, without stopping! And on the A43 we were doing at least a ton, and down the M40 we hit 140 mph!
I have never had an adrenalin rush like it! took us about an hour and ten mins!
The surgeons etc were waiting for us at the JR, and near enough ripped the box off me before I even had time to stop! that was in 1993. I wonder if the recipient of the heart is still alive today? I understood from the JR that the op was a success.
The cops wouldn't give me an escort back, and said that if they caught me speeding on the way back they'd nick me! Bastards! they were top blokes really, we a had a cup of tea in the hospital canteen. they loved riding the bikes and these escort duties were quite rare, so they enjoyed the run down too! apparently they were quite impressed by my riding style!!
On the Fazer I'll admit to 128mph, on the A34.
and once when I worked for Cosworth, i had to borrow an Aston Martin from the garage, that had the test engine in it for the Vanquish. I was sort of cruising doqn a fairly empty M20 going to kent Cams to pick up some cams(!) and I just happen to glance at the speedo as I thought that the bridges were coming up a bit quick. I was doing 145 mph and it wasn't even pushing it! Plenty left to go! I eased back a bit then!

This was in Newmarket... now there's a dead long straight coming out of Newmarket heading towards the M11 with a roundabout at the end with a chuffin' great horse on it.
That road, through Six Mile Bottom up to Newmarket, is, allegedly, where they used to speed-test Vincents back in the '40s and '50s. :)
