i saw the obedience class, which was won by Ludo, a collie...........
he was glued to his owners side the whole time, and never took his eyes of her once. Was a joy to watch, but also made me feel it was not right to have THAT much control over a dogs mind. She totally controlled the dog, and I found that a little sad.

I also saw the 'sit and stay' test. That was amazing too. They sat and waited for 10 long mins, but in the end a few gave in.
If that was my 'scrumpy' he would probably last about 20secs then would get fcuked off with waiting, and attack the first dog he could get too......... In fact, he would've done that as soon as he got there..........lol

Hah!
It's not mind control, to a collie, anything it does for it's person is a game/work. (Same thing.)
I use the obedience game as part of advanced training, it sharpens their attention.

A collie that isn't treated right doesn't look it's person in the face, it cowers.

Personally, I wanted the Norwegian Elkhound to win, just because they look so like my Japanese Akita. :D

I wanted the Elkhound to win too (the Aussie Shepherd was my second choicer - first time I can remember a merle-eyed dog winning Crufts), although I was quite taken by the little Pomeranian and I normally don't like small dogs - but its lickle feet were so cute!

As I've said to Liz elsewhere, I reckon the star of Crufts was Yogi, the winner (along with his owner, Daniel) of the Friends For Live award. :)
