Daytona in October

Our mate Hugo (UKIP candidate) and fellow naturist:) has a pad in Florida which he rents out for most of the year. He has invited us two reprobates to go and stay there with him and his missus for free in October for two weeks and we're all going to Daytona which worries me a bit as I don't have a trailer or a bike with flames painted all over it :D
Anyone been to bike week at Daytona? Any good?

its a bit of a pricey any motor bike hire was expensive when we went over to florida could not afford to hire a bike you do need a car to get around ,
if you hire a car do it before you go cos its alot cheaper
and dont go to the comfort inn

custom,s is strict they finger print you and take yer photo also you get a green form on the plane which you have to fill in correctly or you get sent back to the end o the queue

dont take lighters back in your pocket they bin them when you go through customs lost me fuckin zippo :mad:

He is well known for riding his various motorbikes wearing just shorts and sandals including his sports bike - fair makes me cringe with horror thinking about the gravel rash. Won't change tho', despite our cries of horror every time we go out for a ride en masse.

I was there end of Jan just gone. I never pre-book a car, you can haggle with the different companies at the airport and get a real good deal. I flew into Orlando. There is a big Harley store on the 192 just outside Orlando and you can hire a big tourer like Road King for $100 a day. (probably more when bike do's are on) Daytona is about 90 mins away on the freeway.

I've never made it for bike week or biktoberfest, I have to go for work every January. Daytona is a nice place, you can ride on the beech every day of the year.
