After almost Six months of no-bike-itis courtesy of that twat with the white van (those that weren't around the forum then - April 1 - week or so after the last forum party, the GT and I met with a nasty accident when a white van driver a.k.a. C*ntfeatures cut across a dual carriageway right in front of me without looking in his mirrors or owt, then proceeded to slam his brakes on, making me plough right smack into the back of him at 50mph!!!!!!!! :( )
I have finally been able to get the bike running - it took ages to start tonight as the engine hasn't been run in over 4 months (the insurance inspector only came round 6 weeks ago) The painting is finished (and it looks gorgeous - OK, so there's a little run on the tank, but hey, I'm only human), everything is on, forks/yokes tank, mudguards, seat (made it me'sen from the old lardbucket seat!!) I even managed to sort out the fork oil me'sen (two man job according to my fave parts shop in the west midlands (Cradley Kawasaki - much cheaper than Z-Power!), everything (more or less) works; headlights and tail/brake lights work (indicators are behaving funny tho  not flashin' for some reason ). The only thing I haven't done on that bike is the fork seals, I am so proud of what I've managed to achieve!
Just taken it for a blat round Seaford and ohhhhhh, what a bike, now all the crap's been cut off it (subframe, rear seat etc.) it handles beautifully. An absolute dream in Ford Ash (Pearlescent) Black!!! It's a shame Topper hasn't been around today as he's got a digital camera - he came round yesterday while everything was being painted still!)
There are still a few bugs to iron out (no speedo for example, that would help!), all of which will take no more than a day to sort out. For that reason alone, we'll be coming to the Forum Party by car (It's only because I lost a day when I got called in to work on Wednesday - got them right out of the sh1t, which they do appreciate - got a bottle of vino off them last week for just doin' me job!! they've given me Monday off to compensate).
I am soooooooooo happy, you would not believe it!
