Hi all,
I want to fix risers on my trike, yam xs 750 front end,but the top yoke has large holes with rubber inserts and if you bolt risers into them it makes the steering bendy(if you get my drift)Now I thought of replacing the top yoke(previuos thread) but that seems to be a non starter. So has anybody got any ideas how to go about it pleeeeeeeeze. :(

IIRC the risers on my XJ750 / 900 seca trike were rubber mounted too. Took a bit of getting used to but certainly saves some vibration.
What's the problem? You dont like the 'bendy' feel? It could just be something you need to get used to with time.

had the same on 1 of old xs 650's, if you have short risers with low bars might be ok but i had 6" 1s and 10" westerns so i took the rubber insert and the top yoke to an engineer and he machined me sub rubber bits out of ally, cost about £20.
Try that m8.

i got the same prob on me shadow, not too bad with the smaller risers but i got the 6".I just got use to it but need to change as i'm about to put some apes on it,Think it may be a bit too bendy.

It's not so much i don't like the bendy feel,it's just that with bars of 19" it's just a bit too much.
I like the idea of having a couple of ally ones made but trying to find an engineer round here that doesn't charge the earth is not easy.
I thought about cutting the ends off the rubbers, using the centre and a thick washer on each end.But i'm not sure if that would make much difference.

had the same problem with the yokes on my z650 that was in issue 49 ish i removed the rubbers and had a mate machine a bit off the risers so they butted into the yokes then i pinned the apes so they located into the risers and bobs yer aunties live in lover
