looking at replacing carbs on a project. standard carbs have throttle position sensor, which connects into ignition module. If i fit carb without TPS, will I have probs with ignition?

it will go all cock up, the cdi unit takes its readings from the throttle position sensor for advancing the ignition correctly, keep original.

Which bike?

And is the TPS a variable resistor or a position sensor? Some times you get a microswitch to tell the CDI when the thing is ticking over, which is a bit of a different proposition from a variable resistor that actually tells it where the throttle is.
