there we were yesterday late afternoon - sat in the shop drinking coffee n putting the world to rights

pixie had been in and out all day - then she rang me to say she'd left her purse on the counter so would I drop it at hers on the way home

yeah sure I said - noticing that her purse was indeed on the counter


so an hour or so later we close up, say bye to stevie n set off home

of course I forgot to take her purse - so we went all the way back to the shop

no sign of it

well no-one had been in except us - so knowing how daft I am I searched the bins n everything - retraced our route in case I'd dropped it out of my bag - searched the car - the bin at home - all over - even asked stevie if he'd noticed me putting it somewhere - he hadn't

now I know her mate had just given her £150 that she owed her so with rising panic and realising I'd have to pay her back the money and owt else I
rang her up to confess (I was rather distressed by now because I couldn't remember picking her purse up - but it had just disappeared)

lo and behold

she'd actually come up to the shop to pick it up herself - and we 3 were all sat there when she did - and she even had a rant
