Wysiwyg, (What you see is what you get), are regulars up at the Vic. Simple, well executed, no nonsense rock band. You'd have to try really hard not to enjoy them. :D

Both of them sound f'kin excellent - not heard a Motörhead covers band before - might even sound better than't real thing does nowadays - followed 'em since I was a weeeee sprog* when my late stepmother took me to HMV in Leeds back in 1980 to buy Ace of Spades and Overkill for my Stepbrother (Guess who's got'em now? Can't bloody play'em though as of course they're on f'kin vinyl!!)

*8!! Yes I was brought up in a "musically beneficial" household - brought up on Pink Floyd and Motörhead - Met Lemmy at this rock club in Bradford when I was eighteen, he was completely flummoxed when I told him I'd been a fan for 10 years.

Wotcha.

Well, that'll be me drinking in another pub then ( or sat outside at least ) - contrary to popular belief, not all bikers like rock music.

When it comes to music, I can get on with most things apart from jazz, heavy rock and rap. Blues tend to have me heading for the door too ;)
The only band I've ever had a 'following' for is Jethro Tull.
Cajun and Zydeco stuff - I quite like.

When it comes to rallies, I tend to prefer the sitting around with a guitar / banjo and generally making a pest of myself . . . . be afraid, be very afraid.

Bit like most of our mates then LW! We know quite a lot of muso types, various stuff from folk to rock (if ever you get chance to see the Passion Killers, they're cool!!)

I don't think Mrs R has heard M'head's latest stuff (as in since they went to california or wherever the hell they are these days!) I went off 'em for a long time when 1916 came out, thought that was shyte! As I mentioned previously, my reminiscences were in the 1980's (Fast Eddie Clarke and all that! - tho' Fastaway were shyte too!)

Whether the bands are you cup of tea or not, I'm pretty sure you'll find the Vic to be a warm, friendly place run by bike enthusiasts, and with the nicest bunch of locals imaginable. (and no, I don't work for them) :)

Look at the picture - count the strings :p - Yep, there's six of 'em . . . . . . it's a guitar banjo. I tend to use that instrument 'cos it's a lot louder than a normal acoustic guitar, and it means I don't have to learn new chord shapes ( me being an idle git ). Now me ukulele on the other hand has only four strings, and that's quite fun to play, and a damn sight easier to carry on the bike.
I only play for enjoyment these days, 1985 was the last time I did any 'serious' playing, and that was using flute rather than guitar.
Never been to the festival at Gloucester Guild Hall - been to Lichfield Guild Hall a few times though . . . similar sort of thing.
